Welcome to the first Review for fall 2008.
This week’s feature is on the upcoming Old-time Fiddlers Festival. Payson has hosted the event for more than 30 years. For most of those years, this is where top fiddlers come to play to claim the Arizona championship and the opportunity to represent the state at the national contest.
Music is the focus of the Artist Profile in this edition of the Review. Gerry Reynolds helped bring live jazz to the Mogollon Rim when he and other fans instituted the monthly jazz programs at the Community Presbyterian Church. Reynolds is frequently part of the program, playing drums for the visiting artists.
Train travel is the topic of Ken Brooks’ Travel Talk column.
Quick meals based on pre-cooked items are the basis of the food feature.
Tim Ehrhardt shares bits and pieces provided by a long-ago Rim Country newspaper correspondent in his history column.
