The Payson Christian Ministerial Fellowship, an organization of churches in the Payson area, is planning its seventh annual Easter celebration at Rumsey Park.
The group invites residents of the Rim Country and out-of-towners of all faiths to join them at Rumsey Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 11 for its Easter in the Park Celebration of the resurrection of Jesus.
“This is an American gathering for Easter Sunday that everyone is invited to attend who wants to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and eat apple pie,” said Pastor Joe Hittle.
The fellowship is offering tons of free food, including hot dogs, drinks, baked goods, burritos, cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn. A bounce house will be provided for the children to jump off their energy. Also look for the hayride, face painting, newspaper hats and prizes.
The fellowship is also offering free clothing to anyone throughout the day.
The event will also include performances by contemporary Christian music recording artists, the RU Band, La Roca and several praise bands from area churches along with other homegrown talents like the Calvary Chapel youth band and Calvary kids.
Bradford said several groups of high school students would perform live skits to music at the event similar to a music video.
In the event of bad weather, the program will be held at Rim Country Middle School gym. Rumsey Park is at 328 N. McLane Road. For more information, call the Calvary Chapel in Payson, (928) 468-0801.
