Chamber Seeks Nominations For Local Biz Awards

The Northern Gila County Economic Development Corporation (NGCEDC) is seeking nominations for the 2009 Rim Country Business Awards.

The awards recognize outstanding accomplishments and contributions of business toward the economic health and vitality of our community.

Nominations are open to all businesses in Rim Country.

Awards will be given to the small business of the year, large business of the year and business person of the year.

In addition, there are two new awards this year: the business excellence award will be presented to a business person operating a business in Payson and the outstanding service award will be given to a business that is a member of the chamber.

Winners for 2008 included PostNet for small business and the Payson Regional Medical Center for large business.

Jan Parsons, then of Arizona Public Service, was honored as business person of the year.

Selection criteria

Some of the selection criteria include contributions to the economic vitality of the Rim Country regional area, community impact and involvement, innovation and customer service.

Deadline for nominations is April 30. Nominees will be notified by May 15.

The 2009 Rim Country Business Awards will take place at noon, Thursday, June 4 at the Chaparral Pines Golf Course Clubhouse.

Lunch will be served and winners will be announced for the five awards.

Tickets are $25 each or $175 for a table of eight and must be purchased in advance no later than noon, Friday, May 29.
