A motorcyclist killed after being thrown off his bike April 3 on Highway 188 has been identified.
Larry Bravo, 65, of San Jose, Calif., was riding with a large pack of riders who were part of a fund-raising event for the Mesa Fire Department, said DPS Officer Jimmy Oestmann.
Bravo was heading westbound on Highway 188 near milepost 257 around 1 p.m. when he attempted to pass, went into the dirt and lost control. He was thrown from his Arlen Ness motorcycle and struck a road sign, said DPS Officer Craig Jones. Bravo was not wearing a helmet, and was unconscious when authorities arrived.
