This is one of the original Mustangs! It was introduced April 17, 1964 and this car was manufactured in Detroit in June of that year.
It is a rare Poppy Red in color, 289 V8 with 4 barrel carb and a factory installed Borg-Warner four-speed transmission. It is all original with 64,000 documented miles.
We have the complete history of the car including the original window sticker and the first owner’s purchase contracts.
It received a national first-place medallion award from the Antique Auto Club of America at its Spring Meet in Gainesville, Fla. in 2005.
The Mustang convertible was the Indianapolis 500 pace car for ’64 and they built 25 white convertibles exactly like this one for the race.
