Robert & Anna Rippy

’70 Chevelle Malibu

This is Anna’s first car, which she purchased in 1980. It was stock until we met in 1991. From there, the transformation from daily driver to show car began! The color is Mercedes Silver with blue pearl ghost flames. There’s been several body modifications such as the shaved door handles and locks, the vinyl roof changed to a hardtop, and the forward-opening hood. Under the hood has been given a lot of attention, as well. I handled all of the mechanical duties, like changing the 4-speed transmission to a 5-speed, for more efficient long distance driving. No trailer queen here! The windows have been updated to power and a Vintage Air air conditioner was added to make cruising MUCH more comfortable! With a 383 Stroker, Holly Street Avenger carb, and Hedman ceramic coated headers with electric exhaust cutouts, it definitely has enough power to move along. Other custom touches include the inner fenders, shift knob, steel console and aluminum fan shroud. We have seen this vehicle through countless changes and plan on a lot more years of fun with it!
