The Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce has planned the following events through the month of May
May 1 — As part of the monthly First Friday celebration on Main Street the new offices for Hinshaw & Associates and Payson Physical Therapy will have grand openings.
A ribbon cutting ceremony, refreshments and tours will begin at 5 p.m.
The offices are at 405 W. Main St., suites C and D.
May 14 — The monthly Business Buzz program will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Payson Regional Airport at the Down Wind hanger (follow the signs).
The Payson Airport Authority will discuss benefits to Payson from the airport’s future plans and designs.
The event includes lunch catered by Cardo’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant. The cost is $8 for members and $10 for others.

May 14 — The Chamber Mixer will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road. There will be finger foods and adult beverages, raffles, giveaways and tours of the facility. The cost is $3 for members and $5 for non-members. The proceeds go to local charities.
May 23-24 — The return of the Loggers Sawdust Festival at the Payson Event Center.
There will be a pancake breakfast by the Boy Scouts from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for $5 per plate.
Event center gates will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Logging competition for pros and amateurs, family competitions, kids activities.
Admission is $8; children under 12 will be admitted free of charge.
Northern Gila County Economic Development Corporation (NGCEDC) is seeking nominations for the 2009 Rim Country Business Awards. The program is presented by NGCEDC (formerly Payson Regional Economic Development Corporation) in conjunction with the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce and Town of Payson Office of Tourism.
The awards recognize outstanding accomplishments and contributions of businesses toward the economic health and vitality of our community.
Nominations are open to all businesses in Rim Country. Awards will be given for Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year and Businessperson of the Year.
Some of the selection criteria include contributions to the economic vitality of the area, community impact and involvement, innovation and customer service. Nominations are due April 30. Nominees will be notified by May 15.

The 2009 Rim Country Business Awards will take place a noon, Thursday, June 4 at the Chaparral Pines Golf Course Clubhouse.
