Your editorial of Aug. 4 on the proposed third fire station makes many good points. The use of the words “Cut-rate fire station” in my opinion, however, serve to inflame rather than enlighten the public.
The new station is meant to shorten the response time. Would a homeowner upon seeing the first fire truck arrive choose to wait for another truck from a fancy facility?
That said, your concern for the people on west Airport Road is well expressed. They need help too.
This is a serious expensive matter. Communication and cooperation are the solution. We all need to work together to make our limited money and resources go as far as possible.
