People are asking about alternatives to Obama Care. There are lots of ideas that would help.
We could make the tax laws that favor employer-based care apply to the individual. This would make personal, permanent care more affordable.
We could allow insurance companies to cross state lines, thus increasing competition.
We could institute Tort reform, which does not help patients, hurts doctors and enriches lawyers.
We could allow insurance companies to craft policies to suit the individual patient, not the current one-size-fits-all mandate.
We must enact Medicare reform before the program goes bust.
Revise the laws on charitable giving to allow more contributions to outfits that supply medical care to the needy.
Let’s do this first, the problem will be smaller if we do, and easier to deal with.
