Safford resident Brenda Barton announced a bid for Rep. Bill Konopnicki’s legislative seat, which is term limited.
Barton has worked as a precinct committeeman, gathered candidate nomination signatures and served for many years as an officer of the Graham County Republican Women.
Also, Barton has been nominated for a second term as Region Three Director of the Arizona Federation of Republi-can Woman. She graduated from the Leadership Institute, and the Dodie Londen Excellence in Public Service Series. In 2008, she was elected an alternate delegate, and later voting delegate, to the Arizona Republican State Convention.
“There is no one-size-fits-all Republican. We are all Republicans. It is from our diversity and respect for each other that we draw our strength,” she said in a press release.
