GCC has administration of justice classes
GCC will be offering two administration of justice classes for spring semester.
Police Communications – AJS 120, is on Mondays, 6-8:50 p.m.
This course covers methods of communication used in police work, including testifying in court, and radio communication, with special emphasis placed on written communication and police report writing.
Criminal Investigation – AJS 103, is on Thursdays, 6-8:50 p.m.
This course covers the fundamentals of criminal investigations. The theory of criminal investigations, crime scene procedure, case preparation, interviewing and basic investigative techniques are examined.
Personal training class
Personal Training – HPE 107, Wednesdays, 5:30-9:20 p.m. is designed to develop an understanding of the principles of strength and fitness training, including fitness evaluation, exercise prescription, special populations, and nutrition. This class prepares students to take the national certification exam.
Basic EMT
EMT-Basic will be offered Tuesdays, 5:30-9:50 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
This nine-credit introductory course is designed to meet all state and national requirements to prepare in testing for the EMT-Basic via the national registry.
Clinical experience in an emergency department and vehicular experience will be included.
Mixed Martial Arts class
GCC will be offering Mixed Martial Arts with Dan Klimut.
“Dan Klimut has been a martial arts practitioner for nearly two decades and has been instructing since 1994. He has trained in several martial arts as well as having trained in Japan. The training he will offer will be a combination of his primary martial art (Bujinkan Ninjutsu), in which he is a Yondan (4th Degree Black Belt), and real life experience as a police officer.”
You may register now for classes that begin in January, and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
AA degree in art now offered at GCC
Gila Community College now offers an Associate of Arts Degree in art.
If you want to pursue an A.A. degree in art, sign up now for Art 102, Color and Design.
In addition to the art classes that GCC has offered in the past, the college will begin offering three new art classes this spring semester.
The new art classes include:
• Paper Crafts is Tuesday from 4 to 5:50 p.m.
• Outsider Art (folk or untaught art) is offered on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:20 p.m.
• Color and Design is offered Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8:50 p.m.
