Operation Christmas Blessing Was A Huge Success

We at the Payson Supply Line would like to thank all of the wonderful people who made “Operation Christmas Blessing” at Granny’s Attic such a huge success! Sponsored by the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community, this was by far our biggest fund-raising event ever, bringing in over $6,000 in donations.

Thank you especially to Russ Goddard and Angela Lyons of Rim Country Health for their hard work and dedication to our troops in the war zones. A big thank you to the owners of Granny’s Attic for taking care of the food items, providing the location for this event and for displaying the raffle prizes in your store prior to the event. Thank you to our good friend Mike Cobo who jumped in to help us on very short notice, and to Charlie’s Specialty Meats for your contribution.

We also want to thank Rim Country Health, Granny’s Attic, 260 Cafe, the American Legion, and the Payson Roundup for having the raffle tickets available for sale at your locations. Thank you to all of our local merchants who donated an incredible amount of raffle prizes, and to everyone who purchased raffle tickets and food at the event.

The funds brought in through this event allowed us to successfully package up and mail out our annual Christmas boxes that included Christmas trees, lots of trimmings and decorations, and many, many stockings stuffed full of goodies for our troops in the war zones.

Twelve separate units, in both Iraq and Afghanistan (two of them field hospitals), received Christmas boxes this year, and we’re already receiving e-mails from some of them who were so excited to receive the boxes and are overwhelmed by the generosity of our Rim Country community.

Each and every box that is sent by Payson Supply Line (not just the Christmas boxes) includes a letter that lets the recipient know that all items being sent are provided by the donations of this community. Payson Supply Line would not exist without you, and we are happy to bridge the connection between you and our military heroes working so hard for America.

Beginning our mission in January of 2005, to date we have sent 1,171 boxes on your behalf, with more names coming in every week. Working together, we can make their days a little brighter and let them know that we appreciate them.

If you have a military friend or loved one stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan, please contact us with their name and mailing address at paysonsupplyline@yahoo.com, or call 474-6968 or 474-6981. Our Web site is www.paysonsupplyline.com.

Wishing everyone a very blessed Christmas and Happy New Year.
