Mountain Bible Church  

Mountain Bible Church Christmas Eve services Thursday, Dec. 24 will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. This is a wonderful, family event with a petting ranch, fire pits, caroling, food, favorite Christmas music and a great Christmas message. First Baptist Church of Pine

The First Baptist Church of Pine, 4039 N. Highway 87 in Pine, will have Christmas Eve candlelight services Thursday, Dec. 24. The first service will be at 6 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. The congregation invites the public to help celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Hope of the entire world, with hymns and scripture.

Ponderosa Baptist Church

“Journey to Bethlehem” — an outdoor, drive- or walk-through exhibit, is a series of scenes depicting the birth of Jesus the Savior that features over 10,000 lights. Designed and built by members of Ponderosa Baptist Church, the display will be lit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly until Christmas Eve. On weekend nights, the panoramic presentation will feature live musicians.

Senior Pastor Joseph Falkner will present a concert, “O Holy Night,” at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, in the church sanctuary. The concert and light display are a gift to the community. Rock of Ages Lutheran Church

Rock of Ages Lutheran Church is presenting a wonderful Christmas Eve Service with children playing the parts of Mary and Joseph and the angels. The whole town is invited. Join the congregation at 6 p.m., Christmas Eve. Rock of Ages is located at the corner of Airport Road and N. McLane Road.

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, will celebrate Christmas with two special services. A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 24. The theme will be “Christmas Presence.” The Christmas Day service is at 9 a.m., Friday, Dec. 25. Holy communion will be served. The theme will be “Behold! Your Salvation comes!”

The New Year’s Eve service is at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31. The theme will be “What’s in a name?” Holy communion will be served. Shepherd of the Pines’ satellite church, Tonto Basin Lutheran Church at Punkin Center Baptist Church, 441 Mclellan Drive, will hold a special Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec 24.

Anglican Catholic Church of the Holy Nativity

Those who wish to welcome the newborn baby Jesus on this Christmas in a Christmas Eve solemn high Mass — a rich, historical and traditional way — are invited to the Anglican Catholic Church of the Holy Nativity at 6:30 p.m., Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. The church will offer Mass at this hour to accommodate the young and the older. There will be Christmas caroling 15 minutes before the Mass at 6:15 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to help food banks in the Rim Country by bringing cans or packaged goods for the food ingathering. The church is at 1414 N. Easy Street (corner of N. Bradley Dr. and N. Easy St.).

Calvary Chapel

Calvary Chapel of Payson will have its Christmas service on Christmas Eve, at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 24.

Mount Cross Lutheran Church

Mount Cross Lutheran Church will have candlelight Christmas Eve Services on Dec. 24. The early family service will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The later liturgical service will be held at 9 p.m. in the sanctuary. Both services will offer Communion. The public is invited to attend. Mount Cross is at 601 E. Highway 260, just east of Safeway.

Payson United Methodist Church

Payson United Methodist Church will be having a Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 24. The congregation will be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ into the world and there will be Communion and a candlelight vigil that evening. Residents of Payson and the Rim Country are invited to join the congregation for the celebration.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Easy St. (on the corner of Easy Street and E. Sherwood) will have its Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 24. The Christmas story will be told by the church’s Sunday school children and there will be lessons, carols and Holy Eucharist. Later, there will be caroling at 10:30 p.m., followed with the service of the Holy Eucharist at 11 p.m.

New Year’s Day prayer service

All Christians are encouraged to begin 2010 right. Join with other “pray-ers” in praise of the Lord and in seeking His will for the world, nation, state, community, church and personally.

Gather between 7 a.m. and 7:10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 1, about two miles east of Beeline on Houston Mesa Road at the top of the hill, just west of Mesa del Caballo. There is a five-minute hike to an overlook where the service will be held. Dress warmly.
