Getting Together With Family For The Holidays

Have you been naughty or nice? The big test is just hours away and Santa Claus or St. Nicholas will be here very soon. I hope that everyone is ready. Dad, get your tools out to help jolly ol’ St. Nick put all those toys together, and Mom, are those cookies baked for Santa to eat on his way to another house? He does need his nourishment to keep going, he has a long way to go.

Holidays with family

This is also the holiday that is so very important to families to get together, and my own family is no exception. This year, our second daughter Eileen and her husband Jon are here to visit and sometime on Christmas Eve, our son, Bill Jr. and his wife Shari and their children Gatlyn and Christian (our grandchildren) will help us celebrate the holiday season.

I am hoping to have a white Christmas. The reason that this is so significant is that they are traveling from Yuma to be here. When was the last time it snowed in Yuma? This Christmas promises to be a very special one for the Snyder family.

Janet Snyder starts the year off on Jan. 1. This is the big 70 for me, quite dramatic and traumatic. The only good thing about turning 70 is that I can apply for a “pioneer’s fishing license” on Jan. 1. Life has been good to me though, with five children, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Stu Stewart of Tonto Village I will celebrate his birthday on Jan. 3. Stu is very active in our little community, he is always willing to help his fellow neighbors. Happy birthday, Stu.

Water Improvement District

The monthly meeting of the board will be on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at the Hellsgate fire station in Tonto Village. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. Please take an hour or so to sit in on what is happening with the improvement of your water supply, and what you can do to help.

Last Tuesday evening the Double D again sponsored the nine-ball tournament. The Christopher Creek gals swept the tables over the Double D gals. The winners were, first place, Patty Boeschling, the second-place winner was Nancy Olson, and the third-place winner was Dee White.

Congratulations to the winners.
