Suspicious fire destroys Pine produce stand

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious early morning fire that recently destroyed a produce stand in Pine.
The Pine-Strawberry Fire Department got a call around 2:30 a.m. that the 10-foot-by-8-foot stand off Old Country Road and Highway 87 was on fire, said Fire Chief Bob Lashua.
When firefighters arrived, the stand was fully engulfed. Crews extinguished the blaze, but it was a total loss.
The investigation was handed over to the GSCO who is looking into the cause. No further details were available.
