The Lady Longhorns wrapped up play yesterday, Dec. 29, in the Holiday Hoops tournament with a 2-2 record and a 13th place finish in the 16 team field. Tournament champion Glendale Apollo posted a 4-0 record that included a win over outmanned Williams Field High Schools in the championship finale played last evening in Wilson dome.

The Lady Horns opened with a 45-34 loss to Mesa High and in the second round fell 39-34 to Flagstaff Coconino.

Payson rebounded on the second day to defeat Westwind Prep 55-25 and Northland Prep, 46-36.

First year tournament director Jadyn Walden called the holiday shoot out an overwhelming success and said she hopes to make it even bigger and better next year.
