Recently we urged our readers to take a look at their financial bottom lines and see if they could find the means to support the upcoming Valentine’s Gala for the Payson Humane Society’s building fund and A Taste of Rim Country benefit for the library in March.
Between this weekend’s event and the early March festivities for the library, there is another event you might want to put on your “to do” list. A group of area civic groups are presenting a Lip Sync Contest to raise scholarship funds for students in the Payson schools.
The Kiwanis Club, Payson High School Drama Club, Rim Country Optimists and Rotary Club sponsor the Feb. 21 event. All proceeds will be used to provide scholarships for continuing education.
Tickets are being sold for a special drawing for two tickets to a Rascal Flatts/Jessica Simpson concert, donated by KMOG.
The evening will also include a 50-50 raffle and a silent auction featuring a wide variety of items for all ages. Donations of auction items or scholarship donations are now being sought.
For details, call Joan Young at (928) 472-2264.
