Show some love for education on Valentine’s Day at the Rally For Education from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 14 at the state Capitol.
Give Gov. Jan Brewer a lacy valentine with a positive message about K-12 education, and show legislators some love, too. A giant box will provide a ready receptacle at the Capitol building for education-related valentines.
Organizers urge participants to bring stories about what public education means to them. Bring children and grandchildren, neighbors, friends and coworkers, organizers say.
They also urge attendees to take signs which tell elected officials that supporting K-12 education should be a priority.
Parking is available in the Governor’s Tower lot on 19th Avenue between Jefferson and Adams streets and in the parking garage behind the state offices just north of the Capitol.
The event is organized by statewide education organizations including the Arizona Association of School Business Officials, Arizona School Administrators and Arizona School Boards Association.
