This is the time of year the Payson Art League begins actively seeking sponsors or donated funds to help perpetuate the two annual fine art shows — the open studio tour in May and the fall art show in November.
Proceeds from the two shows are used to fund art projects and supplies to the local schools.
Sponsorships can be purchased for $50, $100 or $200 and are tax deductible. As the Payson Art League is a nonprofit organization, patronages are also available in any amount and would be appreciated, officials said.
PAL is also recruiting new members. One does not need to be an artist to join. The monthly meetings are always a fun gathering with demonstrations by local and regional professional artists in a variety of media. Annual dues are $35, which also goes toward putting on the shows and funding the schools’ art programs. The meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, with refreshments and a social time beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the dining area of the Rim Country Health and Retirement Center on Longhorn Road.
