The media is bombarded with stories of a crippled housing market, but one local real estate office reports business is doing well — good enough to warrant a new office in Christopher Creek.
Four Seasons Realty has only been open in Payson since June 6, 2007 but has already expanded to the Valley with two agents and is now opening a third office in Christopher Creek, near the Creekside Restaurant.
“We felt there was a need for another office in that area,” said branch manager of the new space and Realtor Gino Ater. “I have lived in the area since 1993 and know it really well and I am focused on assisting customers in the outlying area.”
The new office will focus on the Christopher Creek, Forest Lakes, Mead Ranch, Colcord, Bonita Creek, Whispering Pines and Bear Flats areas.
Ater, a volunteer firefighter with Hellsgate Fire Department, will be joined in the new space by the 14 other realtors who work under Four Seasons Realty and will rotate through the area.
Ater, who also does construction, recently finished the remodel on the office, at 1520 W. Christopher Creek Loop. The office at one time was the original Creekside Restaurant, and then became various businesses through the years.
Owner Betty Gooder said she never planned to expand so quickly but was always open to change.
“The market is better than people think it is, especially in the vacation and second home market,” said realtor David Greenshield. “We are expanding to where the business is and there is a lot of business out there.”
Ater said he recently sold a creekside home in Tonto Creek Estates for $415,000. He said Four Seasons is selling all types of properties from the small cabins up to 3,200-square-foot custom log homes.
“We are extremely diversified,” Gooder said. “And people want to buy a place out here and vacation.”
