Javelina, Other Animals Out Looking For Food

Because of all the snow we have been getting, the animals are out looking for food.

Javelina can’t see very well, so you need to stay away from them.

Also, watch your pets around them. Many dogs in the area have come in contact with these animals and required a lot of stitches.

Javelina have very large teeth and can tear a dog up in a matter of seconds.

It has been really quiet in Christopher Creek, not a lot going on. Traffic over the weekend was high due to the Valley residents coming up to play in the snow and build snowmen.

Someone built one right along Hunter Creek Drive so close to the road that when you came around the corner it looks like you were going to run into it.

Fire department volunteers

The Christopher/Kohl’s Fire Department has some new volunteers. Dale Lee has come on board as a volunteer and Chris Lecher has been hired part time as a paramedic, firefighter.

The bad weather should be gone pretty soon and it will be time to clean up your property of all those limbs that have fallen from the heavy snow.

Before you know it, it will be fire season again and it is very important for everyone to clean up your properties. The pinecones are falling by the dozens, as are the needles.

Check into the firewise grant at the fire station and when you can use the firewise trailer to clean up your property.
