The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 51-year-old Forest Lakes man who has been missing since Friday.

Mark Russell Irby told his wife that he was going for a short ride on his ATV around the subdivision near his home in Forest Lakes around 10 a.m., Jan. 2. Irby frequently traveled west of the subdivision on trails near Forest Service Road 237.

Tonto Rim Search and Rescue (TRSAR) was called out Saturday to assist in the search, along with Maricopa County Sheriff’s personnel on Sunday. TRSAR commander Bill Pitterle said around 40 people were out looking for Irby on foot and snowmobile.

“We drove every single road in the subdivision the first day looking for quad tracks and we snowshoed around every structure in the subdivision,” Pitterle said. “We have not found any evidence whatsoever of him, it is frustrating and baffling.”

Irby is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes, wears glasses and is on medication for high blood pressure. He was last seen wearing a denim shirt, blue jeans and riding a red Bombardier ATV with Arizona license plate 36B-175.

Anyone with information about Irby can call the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 774-4523 or (800) 338-7888.
