Sunrise Prayer Service Was A Great Start To The New Year

Praise the Lord for the wonderful New Year’s Day sunrise prayer service at the overlook by the top of Houston Mesa Road. Yes, praise Him for His patience with us and our nation, for His direction, love and other blessings, such as the beautiful scenery He has created in Rim Country.

About 40 people, from at least eight different churches, gathered to start 2009 in the right way by uniting in prayer to our Almighty God. Special thanks go to Dave Yoder and the other musicians (Harold Fleeger from U-Turn for Christ, Pete Navarro from “La Roca” and Don Gibson from Mountain Bible). Thanks too for the pastors and other pray-ers who prayed for about an hour in spite of the cold weather.

Extra thanks also go to the Payson Roundup for the two special articles, and also to KMOG for the radio announcements, to let people know about this prayer opportunity.

May all Christians throughout Rim Country continue to pray for real revival.

As Dr. Greg Frizzell has said, “If genuine revival is to sweep our land, prayer and repentance must yet rise to higher levels.”

G. Campbell Morgan has also stated the truth, that “We cannot organize revival, but we can set our sails to catch the wind from heaven when God chooses to blow upon His people once again.”

With many Christians praying, then the 24-7 prayer emphasis last September, and now the New Year’s Day prayer service, perhaps a much-needed genuine revival is on its way. Praise the Lord!

Thanks again for the special articles that the Payson Roundup published to help this prayer event be as successful as it was. May you have a great new year.
