‘Dump The Drugs’ Program Aims To Curb Prescription Abuse

The Community Prevention Council is hosting a community event to help curb illegal drug abuse by properly helping people dispose of unwanted prescriptions.

The event, called Dump the Drugs, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, on Highway 87 at the Sawmill Plaza by The Apothecary Shop.

This organized, community effort will properly dispose of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter drugs to minimize illegal usage.

According to Debra Shewey of the Community Prevention Council, “This is a great time to clean out your cupboards and medicine cabinets to get rid of those old outdated and unwanted drugs.

Proper disposal keeps our water supplies cleaner and helps prevent dangerous prescriptions from falling into the hands of youths and people suffering from addictions.”

Call Debra Shewey for more information at (928) 595-1199.
