After two weeks of exhaustive searching for a missing architect in the Forest Lakes area, searchers have scaled back their efforts, authorities said.
Dozens of searchers have scoured the Forest Lakes area for any sign of Mark Russell Irby, 51, who was last seen Jan. 2 around 10 a.m. by family before he headed out for a short ride on his red ATV.
So far, searchers have found no trace of Irby or his ATV.
“We have no reason to believe foul play at this time,” said Gerry Blair, of the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office. “But we still have Forest Service, deputies and detectives following up on any clues. We are certainly not closing the case.”
Deputies will continue driving the roads throughout the area for any sign of Irby, Blair said.
Irby is 5’10”, weighs 175 pounds, has brown hair and eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a denim shirt, blue jeans, “Croc” style plastic shoes and riding a red Bombardier ATV with Arizona license plate DV4X.
Anyone with information regarding the welfare or whereabouts of Irby can call the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 774-4523 or (800) 338-7888.
