Mesa Insulation has proudly served Rim Country for more than two decades. Albeit an itchy calling for the workers, branch manager Tom Johns said providing a quality product to the community has always made up for the hours of scratching.

“It is not an easy job,” Johns said jokingly of the tiny fibers that can cause hours of irritation. “But we live in this community, service it and take care of the people.”

The company offers free inspection and estimates on upgrading attic and floor insulation.

“We offer residential and commercial insulation and will service anywhere in Gila County,” Johns said. Mesa offers blown fiberglass and cellulose and fiberglass batts insulation.

Supervisor Ron Frost said if you live in an older home, the insulation is likely below standards and you could use more or newer insulation.

According to APS, you may need ceiling insulation if the air conditioner works extra hard to keep the home cool or your home heats up quickly when the air conditioner cycles off.

“The recommended levels of insulation have increased and will continue to increase as the cost of fuel goes up,” Johns said.

Mesa Insulation, started out as Rim Country Insulation in 1983, but changed its name in 1996 when the company was bought out. Today, Mesa Insulation branches are located across the state in Tucson, Show Low, Mesa and Phoenix.

Johns said not much has changed at the company locally, but the name.

“We are a family oriented business and work hard to offer our employees good benefits and wages, he said.
