Name: Stacy Flanagan

School and subjects taught: Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade science at the Pine Strawberry School.

College degree and major: Bachelor’s in elementary education with a minor in biology.

Years teaching: This is my fourth year teaching.

Why do you teach? I have always enjoyed working with children, there is just something wonderful about it even when you have a rough day.

Personal motto / words of wisdom: Try not to stress over the little things.

Family: I have a wonderful husband and one crazy dog.

Pet peeve: I hate it when people call themselves stupid. We all have our own unique abilities.

Favorite hobby or leisure activity: I enjoy camping, hunting and fishing. When I don’t have time for that, I love to read!

Person in history you’d most like to meet and why: I want to meet Jesus because he is my savior.

Why Payson? I grew up in Payson so when I got offered the job in Pine, I jumped at the opportunity.

In school, who was your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teachers when I was in school were Mr. Watson, Mrs. Joe and Mrs. Shaffer. They all made science exciting.

What was your favorite subject in school and why? In school I always enjoyed science and art because I enjoyed all the hands-on activities.

What was your favorite year in school and why? My favorite year of school was my junior year because I passed my AP Biology exam and I received my scholarship to Northern Arizona University.
