First Friday Features Food, Music, Classic Cars, Art


Join the fun on Payson’s historic Main Street each first Friday of the month. Merchants up and down Main Street stay open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at this award-winning event.

Each event features food, music, classic cars and lots of ambiance. Payson’s Art & Antiques District is located just west of the Beeline (Hwy. 87) on historic Main Street. All are invited to the party Feb. 6 as “Sweetheart Deals” are offered up and down the street.

Featured at Down the Street Art Gallery, 703 W. Main St., will be a Jewelry and Chocolate Valentine’s Event, with jewelry artists in the spotlight. Among those taking center stage are: “Storybead” Zissler, Patricia Allebrand, April Bower and Tim Humme.

The featured artist at The Artists of the Rim Gallery will be new member Matalyn Gardner, photographer. Gardner and other member artists of the gallery will be on hand from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6 to meet guests and discuss their work.

Gardner’s work documents the beauty of the Arizona landscape and wildlife, as well as the unique individuals who are part of the Rim Country. The Artists of the Rim Gallery is at 408 W. Main St.

The Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main St., will celebrate February’s first Friday with live music by Colleen and the Starlighters and a “Sweetheart Soup and Salad” supper, be served by the Community Presbyterian Church Learning Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Community Presbyterian Child Learning Center will also be offering a bake sale of assorted goodies just in time for Valentine’s Day.
