Editor:
I wanted to write in regarding the article speaking of the injured cliff diver. My teenage sons and their friends witnessed this man slip and fall from the cliff, hitting the cliff walls numerous times on his way down. My oldest son, Justin Wilson, 18, jumped into the water to rescue the injured man.
His younger brother, Zachary Wilson, 15, tried to offer medical advice to those assisting him once out of the water, with concerns about supporting the injured man’s neck and offering suggestions for stopping the bleeding from his gaping wound.
I am very proud of my sons for their quick responses. I am also happy to hear that this will now be a reminder to my oldest that there is danger in this activity, as prior to witnessing this, he was one to feel invincible and was somewhat of a risk taker.
I have since spoken with the injured man and he is on the road to recovery.
A proud mother,
Margaret Foster
