Global warming model does not fit with reality

Editor:

Roundup reporter, Pete Aleshire accurately reported on a report by the United States Global Research Program on global warming in your June 23 edition. He went on to paint a gloomy picture of what these predicted climate changes would mean to the Rim Country. This dire forecast upset a July 3 letter to the editor writer. He was probably not the only one upset.

I hope that letter writer and others don’t do anything drastic or even feel depressed because there are some strong dissenting opinions out there. One is Alan Carlin Ph.D. who is the senior operations research manager at the EPA’s National Center for Environmental Economics (NCEE).

He has been with the EPA for 38 years, but now has been taken off all climate-related work. EPA is the agency that issued the report about the effects of global warming.

This story was reported in the June 29 edition of Investors Business Daily titled Carbongate. IDB editorials can be read at www.ibdeditorials.com.

So why did Alan get demoted? Alan was given four days to review a draft copy of the above report on March 9. Some of his conclusions were that the report relied on material that was at best three years outdated in a rapidly changing field.

He also found that, are you ready for this, global temperatures have been declining for 11 years while CO2 has been increasing. In other words, the physical evidence didn’t fit the computer models that the global warming report was based on to make their predictions. Other findings were that the storms would not be as intense or as frequent as predicted.

The EPA tried to suppress this report and then cover it up. On Friday, the day the House voted on the 1,500-page energy bill which nobody had read, the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) released a study of Alan’s report including e-mails on how it was suppressed.

Al McGartland, office director at NCEE, in four e-mails told Alan Carlin to not tell anyone about his report and the report would not be included and that he was not to spend any more time on global warming! This study including the e-mails and Carlin’s report can be found at cei.org.

I hope everyone checks out the Web sites at cei.org and www.ibdeditorials.com.

Another site on this report is canadafreepress.com. Under archives, click on energy, environment and look for a July 1 article by Gretchen Randall titled EPA throws Obama’s vow of “Openness” on bureaucratic toxic waste dump.

Also on this site under global warming is news of an upcoming conference on Aug. 13 by Scientists for Truth to debunk cap and trade and global warming myths.
