Weekend accident roundup

It was a busy holiday weekend for authorities, with a number of injury accidents including an 11-year-old hurt while on an ATV and two individuals airlifted to a Valley hospital.
On Friday, a Gila County Sheriff deputy responded to the Verde Glen area for an ATV accident around noon and then around 5 p.m. another deputy responded to an auto accident with injuries in the Pine area.
On July 4, an 11-year-old girl injured her arm after the ATV she was driving struck a rock. The sheriff’s office responded to the East Verde Park area around 2 p.m. along with an ambulance but due to her injuries, the girl was not taken to the hospital.
On Monday, three Payson adults were injured when their vehicle crashed into the side of a mountain near Flowing Springs.
A 39-year-old female and 38-year-old male were flown to a Valley hospital and a 42-year-old male was driven to a local hospital.
Around the same time, DPS responded to a vehicle fire on Highway 87.
