Month-Long Surveillance Leads To Arrest Of Three On Drug Charges

After more than a month of surveillance, police arrested three men Friday morning after finding half a pound of marijuana in a west side home.

Steven Lidster, 22, Nicholas Armenta, 26, and Gregory Lidster, 55, of Payson were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gregory was also charged with misconduct involving weapons.

Police located the marijuana after obtaining a drug-related search warrant for the home in the 500 block of West Frontier Street.

Along with the marijuana, police found several items of drug paraphernalia and three firearms.

Police Chief Don Engler said after obtaining information that drug sales were occurring at the residence, they began an investigation in early June. After obtaining the search warrant, police decided Friday to approach the home.

The special response team had to force entry after the occupants refused to open the door. Once inside arrests were made quickly and no one was injured, he said.

Two other adults and a child were also in the home at the time. Engler said additional arrests are possible.
