A July program at the Payson Public Library is designed to encourage young people to discover writing for fun.

The Payson Public Library has a lot of youth programs during July. Some have started, but those interested can stop by and check them out.

Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. through July 23 the library has a Jr. Puppeteer Troupe open to children ages 6 and up.

The library has a creative writing program for youngsters in the third through twelfth grades. It is held Fridays through July 24. The program for the third through fifth grade students meets from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the session for young people in the sixth through the twelfth grades meets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.  The goal is to encourage young people to write for fun.

On Wednesday, July 22 Anime Manga Cosplay meets from 1p.m. to 4 p.m.

This is for middle and high School ages only.

Cosplay contests are for closest to character and funniest anime joke. Participants will view Gin Tama on the big screen with Pokki.

A Video Game Tournament, with a contest in Call of Duty, is planned from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 25. Participation is limited to those 10 to 18.
