Jack W. Bushno was born March 11, 1926 in Chicago, Ill. He lived and was educated in Rock Island, Ill.
He served in the U.S. Army 418 Division 163rd Infantry in combat during World War II in the South Pacific.
He studied at Kansas University, Washburn University and New York University.
Mr. Bushno was the executive director of Boys Club of Topeka, Kan., moving to Phoenix in 1961 to be director of the Boys Club of Phoenix.
He moved to Pine in 1976 and was active as a volunteer with the Senior Citizens of Pine and Strawberry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ottalee of Pine; and children, Bill of Gardner, Kan., Lori Beth Nicholson of Tempe and Melody Kay DeBonito of Tempe. Also surviving are grandchildren, Chaz and Mariah, both of Tempe.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 23 at the First Baptist Church of Pine.
