The 2009 Rodeo Parade will celebrate the 125th year of the World’s Oldest Continuous Rodeo.
The parade is part of the August Doin’s and will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 15 on Main Street.
The parade route will start in Green Valley Park and proceed east to Sawmill Crossing.
This year, the parade announcers will be Eddie Armer, at the judges’ stand, assisted by Al McCoy, Phoenix Sun’s announcer; Fred Carpenter, at the Community Presbyterian Church; and DJ Craig, near the fire station, assisted by Jeff West, of KMLE Country.
Special celebrity ambassadors will be Tim Kempton and Dan Majerle of the Phoenix Suns.
The theme this year is the “August Doin’s Rodeo Roundup,” and entry forms are available at the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce or online at www.rimcountrychamber.com.
All entries will receive certificates, and a first prize ribbon will be awarded for each of the 12 categories.
Come and join us for this August Doin’s tradition, and celebrate the 125th continuous year of Payson’s signature event.
