Last week was Vacation Bible School in Christopher Creek. Thirty-four children could not wait to enter the chapel for an exciting week of learning and fun. This year’s theme was Boomerang Express, “It all comes back to Jesus.”
This is the 17th year for Tracy and Teresa Purtee to lead the kids at VBS at the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship. Every year they put everything they have into this event to make it special for all the children.
Opening music was led by Teresa Purtee and Holly Brunner. Crafts were taught by Lois Jones and Rita Spalink. The Bible lessons were taught by Teresa Purtee, and all the delicious snacks were from Rita Quay and Eileen Kittock. Registration was handled by Susan Hepworth and Pat Guevara. Games for the younger children were led by Anne Kilbourne and Jessica Cole. Games for the older children were led by Tracy Purtee. Pat Guevara did the Bible memory verses with each child, and of course, the fun part was the puppet show which is always enjoyed by everyone.
On the last day the children had fun selecting their gifts with the stickers they earned throughout the week.
More than 40 people helped with this year VBS, and their help was greatly appreciated. The youth leaders were Travis Kilbourne, Tucker Kilbourne, Crista Kilbourne, Becca Jones, Frankie Jo Marazza, Stacia Antel and Chris Vang. Youth helpers were Robert Jones, Norma Pena-Rivas, Taylor Jo Armistead, Katilyn Armistead, Jeff Daniels, Bob Quay, Bianca Malmin, Dee Daniels, Kathleen Daniels, Ralph and Mary Bryan. Thanks to all that helped this year, you have made is special for the children and they have learned something they can carry through their lives.
