When I saw my photo on the front page of the Payson Roundup, Tuesday 26 May, I was so grateful that tears welled in my eyes.
The lady in the photograph with me had never been to any kind of veterans ceremonies. It was an honor to have her at my side. She was so comforting and every person who spoke brought a tear to my eye.
I would like to say a special thanks to the lady who introduced the speakers and to Mayor Evans.
Mayor Evans’ words reduced me to tears several times. I was in a battle in Vietnam where 12 Marines and two Green Berets died. It does my heart good to attend these services.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all people who attended, all of us veterans appreciate it.
The Yakama Warriors Association also extends their thanks to the people of Payson.
Thanks Payson for your patriotism.
