Quilt Depicts Rim Country’S Four Seasons

“Arizona Mountain Home” is the name of the Strawberry Patchers’ 2009 Opportunity Quilt. It depicts the Rim Country and its four seasons.

Designed by Kathy MacCleary and made by committee, this year’s offering features hand appliqué, hand and machine embroidery, fabric painting and pen and ink enhancement, along with fabric and yarn manipulation.

It is made in three panels that can be hung together or on opposing walls. The side panels could be used as table runners.

Tickets for the quilt, which cost $1 each or six for $5, will be available at the Strawberry Patchers Annual Quilt Show to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 12, 13 and 14 in the Pine/Strawberry Community Center in Pine. Admission is $2.

Money from the opportunity quilt ticket sales and admission to the quilt show allow the Strawberry Patchers to donate to local, nonprofit organizations in Rim Country.

In 2008, $4,000 was given back to the local community.
