Council Needs To Fund The Humane Society Animal Shelter

In regards to the city wanting to cut the amount of the contract to the humane shelter by $50,000, I feel Sam Streichman’s approach to the problem, is simply ridiculous!

By eliminating the need for the shelter to take in, nothing but dogs brought in by the animal control officer, is incredibily shortsighted, and will lead to, as he freely admits, an awful lot of loose dogs in town! As a guide dog user, I find the notion of having streets full of loose dogs, a very dangerous situation for both me and my guide dog, since we can be subject to attacks from these dogs at any time that we are navigating the streets and sidewalks of Payson.

I hope the council will strongly consider raising the amount of funding to the shelter!
