Editor:
Please help us who love our town and do not want it to become overrun with stray animals. The Humane Society is doing a super job of caring for and finding homes for dogs and cats that would otherwise be roaming our neighborhoods. We owe a debt of gratitude to all those who perform such a valuable service for Payson.
The Humane Society has worked very hard to provide town-friendly accommodations for the animals, and they need all the help and encouragement they can get. Please don’t allow the rug to be pulled out from under them now. As an elected member of the town council, please do all you can to assist the Humane Society by voting against the proposed budget cut.
Surely there are other items in the budget, which are of lower priority, that could be cut. Please vote for the choice of the people — more, not less, support for the Humane Society.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
