Square dancing is popular with seniors all over the country, and the Rim Country is no exception. The Zane Grey Twirlers have celebrated both square and round dancing at a festival for the past 29 years. Plans are already being made for the 30th annual Dance Under the Rim in June 2010.
Each year, the Payson Roundup brings the residents of the Rim Country this special publication highlighting senior living.
This 2009 edition has features on the Rim Country Health & Retirement Community, Payson Care Center, the Payson Senior Center, the Payson Regional Chapter of the Senior Circle Association and Hospice Compassus.
Pine and Strawberry seniors are provided meal programs, activities and services similar to those offered in Payson through the Pine Senior Citizens Center.
There are also articles on tips for living on a fixed income, suggestions to help minimize issues related to wandering and lapses in memory, ways to help seniors enjoy their independence in spite of illness or disability, and an article on building healthy eating habits as you age.
To learn more about services and programs available for the older residents of Payson and the Rim Country, check with Time Out Inc. or the Gila Family Advocacy Center for a copy of the Rim Country Community Services Directory.
We hope you’ll find the Senior Review both informative and entertaining.
Thank you for reading,
Teresa McQuerrey, editor
