Tournament thank you

June 30, 2009

Editor:

On behalf of the Payson FAN (Friends and Neighbors) Club, I would like to thank all those who participated and donated their time, prizes and money for the sixth annual Jack Morris Memorial Golf Tournament. This tournament is a fund-raiser for an annual $1,500 scholarship for a Payson High School graduate, and the balance of the proceeds is earmarked for the football program. As always, the community is so generous to support this great event, and I would like to identify those that donated to this year’s successful tournament.

Thank you to the following title sponsors, who donated a minimum of $500 — The Mahoney Group, SYSCO, Matrix Machine, Dr. John Dacanay and Macky’s Grill.

Thank you to the following businesses and individuals as hole sponsors — all the Title Sponsors, Terry Morris, Jack’s extended family in St. Point Steakhouse, Gary Cordell, Rory Huff, Action Excavating and The Door Stop.

Thank you for the prizes donated by — Payson Eye Care, Big O Tires, Pro Build, Jennifer Rodgers, Tracy Abernathy, High Desert Dentistry, Kohl’s Ranch, Chili’s, Macky’s, Fargo’s, Eileen Daniels, Mikie Halenar, Rim Sight and Sound, Bill Armstrong, Safeway, and the Payson FAN Club.

And no tournament can be successful without the volunteers — Jana and Joel Wilson, Vernon Randall, Judy Cordell, Kristi Ford, Eileen and Michelle Daniels, Mikie Halenar, and Tim Dougherty. These people are always willing to support all the sports and other extra-curricular activities the FAN Club raises money for, to ensure our kids, advisers and coaches have what they need to be successful. To date, the FAN Club has raised over $130,000 for the kids in its four years of existence.

Thank you all for your continued support of this annual event. We all look forward to many more tournaments, other fund-raising events and dollars raised for future athletes and extra-curricular programs in the schools of Payson, through the FAN Club.

Gary Cordell,

Tournament chairman
