Editor:
Regarding the June 26 article “Bankruptcy filing leaves Rim, Chaparral Pines in limbo”: Mr. Drury’s comments were inaccurate and partly untrue. He does not speak for the majority at Chaparral Pines, nor does he have any authority to make any such comments about a private club.
The fact is, the golf industry is in free-fall, members are hard to keep, new members are hard to find, appraised values are meaningless, prospects for a sale are few, and bankruptcy typically means assets are purchased for less, not more.
Mr. Drury used the interview to promote his own agenda and it does not reflect the view of most Chaparral Pines members.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
