Wells Fargo Community Partners (WFCP) is accepting grant requests from Arizona nonprofit agencies that provide job-related resources such as job skills training for individuals who are entering the work force, and materials and education for unemployed individuals.
Individual grants of up to $5,000 will be given to selected agencies, for a total of $50,000 in November.
“Wells Fargo Community Partners, a group of our company’s team members, helps local communities and nonprofit organizations throughout Arizona,” said Andrea Schoeffler, 2009 WFCP chair.
“The program allows our Wells Fargo team members to select grant recipients.
“This year’s mission is to help agencies with programs that provide help for people who are entering the work force and who are unemployed. There is a tremendous need for these programs — especially with today’s challenging economy and the strains it has placed on these agencies.”
“Each year it’s a challenge to narrow our focus for grant recipients because there are so many causes we’d like to support,” Schoeffler said.
“We chose this year’s focus because we are hoping to reach out to organizations throughout the state whose programs help people who have lost their jobs.”
Grant requests must meet WFCP proposal guidelines and be submitted with a current 501c(3) nonprofit verification letter.
To receive an application form, write to Schoeffler, c/o Wells Fargo, 5050 N 24th St., MAC S4122-011, Phoenix, AZ 85016, or call Schoeffler, (602) 528-7400.
Applications must be postmarked by June 1.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
