Editor:
This letter is in response to one, by Ted Paulk, that you published in the March 10 Roundup Mail Call.
We are delighted to read anything Jinx Pyle has to write about; whatever the topic, Jinx gives “Food For Thought,” he stirs the gray matter in our noggins.
Jinx doesn’t engage in “rants.” He says what he means, and means what he says. In America, there is free speech, guaranteed under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and of particular importance in that amendment “Congress shall make no law.” In our country you are free to express your thoughts, ideas and convictions.
If you do not agree with what Mr. Pyle writes, that’s a freedom for all of us too. Simply stop reading his writings.
For us, we respect the right to agree, disagree and speak out. A polite suggestion to you, sir, please read the writings of John Peter Zenger, Thomas Paine and others of our Founding Fathers who cherished the right of free expression and pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to protect and defend it.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
