College degree and major: Bachelor’s in art and French, master’s in elementary education and a reading specialist degree.

Years teaching: 11 years in Payson.

Why do you teach? Because I love working with the kids and that’s what it’s all about.

Personal motto / words of wisdom: Never say can’t.

Family: Two daughters and five grandkids.

Pet peeve: Goes with the personal motto.

Favorite hobby or leisure activity: Riding horses, working in the yard, reading books.

Person in history you’d most like to meet and why: Michelangelo — he was not only an artist but a sculptor.

Why Payson? I grew up in a small town and when I had my children, I didn’t want to raise them in a city. I didn’t want to have snow and I didn’t want to have heat.

In school, who was your favorite teacher in school and why? Mrs. Hatfield in college. She was my French teacher and her husband was my art teacher. She had a great sense of humor.

What was your favorite subject in school? Art.

What was your favorite year in school and why? I plead the fifth.
