My husband and I have lived in Payson for over eight years, and we have felt that it is a pretty nice and safe place to live.
However, this last week we were gone for five days, and upon returning we learned from a phone call that my sister, who is 76 years old and lives in Maine, had mailed us a rather nice package. In using the shipping number, she found that it was reported to have been delivered to our house on Monday, March 16 at 2:30 p.m. When we arrived home on the 19th around 10:30 a.m., the package was not to be found.
In the parcel was a twin bed quilt for our 6-year-old grandson, and 27 ditty bags (to hold toilet and personal items) she had made for our Payson DAR to give to the veterans’ hospital in Prescott for the military veteran patients — both male and female.
Perhaps a person who would steal a package from someone’s front door doesn’t read the paper. However, if someone reads this letter and knows about someone who suddenly found a nice, handmade quilt, would that person please either call the police or me at 468-1082. If the person who took it would like to return it to my front door, I would feel very kindly toward that person.
