The aisles at the 17th Annual Business Showcase were often filled with a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd. The “Team up for Success” theme added a festive atmosphere, which was enhanced with games, giveaways and prize drawings.

The event was held March 21 at the Payson High School gym and was modified this year to add sales and space sharing. The name was changed to the Showcase and Market Place.

Kicking off the fun was a mixer at Majestic Mountain Inn Friday, with more than 70 people attending.

On Saturday, the gates opened at 9 a.m., and approximately 800 people viewed the exhibits.

The change to allow sales at the showcase, along with the exhibits was so popular, that it will return for 2010, said John Stanton, executive director for the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Stanton said the event had 61 companies or organizations represented, which included 23 new exhibitors. All the exhibitors awarded raffle prizes, including a one-week cruise from Cruise Port Travel. The chamber also added 12 new members during the event.

The award winners for the 2009 Business Showcase & Market Place were:

• Payson Care Center, Best of Show

• Town of Payson Parks, Recreation & Tourism, Best Theme Entry

• REBATH of Northern Arizona, Best Outside Entry

• Town of Payson Parks, Recreation & Tourism, Viewer’s Choice

The Showcase & Market Place was sponsored by: Payson Regional Medical Center, Founding Sponsor; Good Samaritan Majestic Rim, Presenting Sponsor; Payson Roundup, Grand Patron Sponsor; and Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Contributing Sponsor.

Water was provided by Walmart Supercenter.

“The Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone who sponsored, exhibited, volunteered, and attended this event. Without your participation, we would not be able to put on these community events,” Stanton said.
