An employee at the Asian Spa was arrested Tuesday on charges of solicitation of prostitution for reportedly offering “happy ending” services.
Police arrested Suhsia Chen, 55, at around 8 p.m. April 28, as they executed a search warrant of the facility at 512 S. Beeline Highway #8, said Payson Police Sgt. Dean Faust.
Police began monitoring the spa more than a month ago, after hearing rumors that the spa was offering additional services on top of massages.
One client of the spa reportedly came forward to police after being offered prostitution services. Police also contacted another man who said he was offered extra services, Faust said.
During an undercover operation, Payson Police sent an officer in posing as a customer. Faust said this operation was not as successful as they had hoped, because the officer was not offered any extra services.
However, officers arrested Chen based on the customer complaints.
The spa opened in Payson roughly six months ago and advertises “free body showers” on its front window.
Police said the investigation continues, and additional charges may result.
“Depending on what the investigation reveals and what transpires,” more arrests may be made, Faust said.
Faust said this is the first commercialized prostitution arrest he could remember for the area.

Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
