Someone made off with Mother Goose just before Mother’s Day Wednesday and Payson police are still looking for the thieves.
Around 7 p.m. May 6, the Payson Police received a call from someone in the park who said they saw two men and a woman stuff a goose into a cage at Green Valley Park and drive off, said Chief Don Engler.
After putting the cage into the car, the thieves drove off in a white El Camino type vehicle with a “For Sale” sign hanging in the window.
The car, with a partial plate of AZ 28JEA, headed east on Main Street and has not been spotted since.
An officer attempted to locate the car in the area, but was unable to spot it.
Engler said the investigation is continuing and the department is working on identifying the car’s owner based on the partial plate the witness saw.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
